Hey board gamers, BJ from Board Game Gumbo here to chat you up about one of the fine sponsors of Southern Board (“SoBo”) Game Festival 2019 (the last one we had in person!) — our friends at GameToppers LLC!
We had a blast interviewing Burky from GameToppers LLC back in 2019 all about his Kickstarter for the GameToppers:
Well, guess what? Burky is back again with another Kickstarter! It is GameToppers LLC Kickstarter 3.0, and it started today. We cannot wait until you see what Burky has in store for everyone this time.
GameToppers LLC produces the finest board game table toppers and accessories there is on the market, bar none. As we like to say on Gumbo Live!, you can “make your game nights a show stopper, when you play on a GameTopper” and it is absolutely true.
But what does Burky have for us this time during his new Kickstarter 3.0 project?
First, up, Burky has some new mats for you to choose from. Here’s our first hand look at one of those, “The Great Wall” painted by Vincent Dutrait (famous for his covers of New York 1901, Lewis & Clark, and Yellow & Yangtze, among others).
Burky was kind enough to send us The Great Wall mat to show off on our GameTopper but there are a few more that he is adding to his stable of fine mats. We absolutely love the GameTopper mats because of the quality. Each mat is the right thickness for your table or table topper, and comes with stitched edges that keep the ends from fraying.
I love the way The Great Wall looks at Gumbo HQ, and especially admire the way that the artwork is mostly on the edges so that I do not feel as bad placing the gameboard “in the center of the table” (as rule books often ask us to do), which would cover up some of the gorgeous art.
Some of the mats that Burky will be offering will be stretch goals during the project, so let’s make sure to signal boost our love for GameToppers LLC mats so that we can all see all of the styles that Burky has to offer.
I’ll have more to say about some of the other things we can expect from the Kickstarter project in the coming days, but I think we’ll just let Burky give us the best sneak peek there is:
Until next time, laissez les bon temps rouler!
Note — Burky donated some of the fine GameToppers LLC merchandise you see featured on both Board Game Gumbo Live! and our playthroughs on the SoBo channel.
